Would you trust Mr. Edgar Allan Poe to take care of your cat after reading "The black cat"?

I read it awhile back- He cut out the cats' eye in a drunken rage and then hanged the cat! Then killed his wife! Ahh good times good times. The "second" cat got him busted though. I liked the Pit and the Pendulum, Descent into the Maelstrom ...really everything i've read i have loved !
