Fresh sardines, cooked a variety of ways in Morocco. Have grown rather fond of them, if seasoned properly they are excellent. Also ate boiled acorns from cork-oak trees, they sell them there in the bazaars in November and December. Made a nice snack, starchy and surprisingly sweet, not like the acorns in Oklahoma, which I experimented with a few years ago. And a fresh fruit drink, lemon with ginger, very warming in the cold rainy months..
