Help required to purchase speakers?

i use a creative sound blaster 5.1 sound card..can anyone suggest the type of sound system i should buy for the best, if not ultimate, experience in music and movies..i don't know much about pc peripherals so it will be great if you provide details..please feel free to ask further questions that will help you in the suggestion..i would really be grateful..
