Ultrasound nurse tapping on your stomach?

Today I went in for an ultrasound and the baby was not laying the right way for her to get some of the pictures she needed. She started to tap my stomach with the ultrasound probe in hopes that it would make him turn over but she had no luck. Has this ever happened to you? I just thought it was a little odd. Having her tap on my stomach with that thing.
