I am wondering if I get retro pay when filling disability ? Worked since I was 17 yrs old.?

I have my attorney now. Doctor says no more work. I didn't want to have to go to extreme of this decision but need an income so badly. I could wait till Monday to find out but thought I would ask Yahoo community. Will I receive retro pay ? First year I started working was in 1982. I am 43 and last day and yr worked was March 2005. I know I have paid into this so I have earned it. Will I get that pay between June 2005 till now ? Or part of it ?? Anyone have any idea how this will work ? I worked steadily since 1982. Had baby and Cesarean but returned to work right away. Only took 3 weeks off.
